New HPA Portfolio Companies

Hyde Park Angels has been busy.  We have added four new portfolio companies in the past month!

First, we first saw Dabble last January.  They worked out of Catapult and have recently become the entrepreneurs in residence at IDEO.  Dabble says you can’t be interesting without interests. You can take a one night class in anything-and pay a very low price to do it.  Dabble lets you dabble in something you are interested in.  If you have some expertise in a subject, you can teach a one night class without developing a whole curriculum-and get paid for it.  Over the holidays, why not take a Dabble class with friends?

Everyone has trouble finding parking.  Your answer is ParkWhiz.  HPA first started talking to ParkWhiz way back in 2007!  Since then, ParkWhiz has built their business into a nationwide parking solution for people.  If you own a parking lot, they can generate extra revenue for you.  The great thing is all the payment is taken care of through the application.  Download it to your phone today.

One of the industries HPA was going to concentrate on when it was founded was agriculture. There is great opportunity for agriculture innovation in the digital age.  Our first investment in ag is FarmLogs. It’s a really cool app that allows farmers to better manage their row crops.  It’s incredibly easy to use and every farmer that uses it has one touch information about his crop.

HPA works with Excelerate Labs companies every summer.  One that really touched us was Moxie Jean.  Every mother we talked to about this company loved it and became a customer. You will too!  Moxie Jean is the easiest way to go online and buy and sell high quality children’s clothes.

The midwestern startup ecosystem is blooming.  HPA hopes that you visit the websites of our newest investments and support them by becoming customers.  We think you will like them every bit as much as we do.
